  • MONITOR YOUR HEALTH BEFORE THE RACE

In 2020, 45 Degrés Nord is one of the only promoters to have organized races and developed safety protocols since the start of the pandemic. We had the opportunity to present 4 races in complete safety.

We continuously work hard to provide you with a safe place to race. Our security measures were created based on government guidelines and recommendations. In addition, we have added additional protocols to ensure the protection of all participants as well as our staff. The goal is to make the most of the race day while following the directives for everyone's safety.

Protocols have been put in place to reduce physical interaction between staff, runners and spectators throughout the venue. Spectators have access to the finish line, parking, registration, certain portions of the obstacle course, festival area, washrooms and food service.

1- CHECKING THE TEMPERATURE AND HEALTH EXAMINATION

  • Observation of visible symptoms

  • Contactless temperature control on arrival

  • Anyone with a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius or higher will be rechecked a second time. If the thermometer reading is the same, the person will not be allowed to enter the site.

For the safety of everyone present, including runners, volunteers, employees and spectators, if someone fails the health examination, that person and all the people in their group cannot be admitted to the the site. In addition, due to a positive test or a failure of health screening (in an official screening center), the persons in question will not have access to the site. Contact our customer service by email to notify us. You will be contacted immediately after the race to transfer your registrations to a future race.

Each person arriving at the site will have to complete a declaration when registering for the race indicating that they are not currently infected with COVID-19, that they have not recently been in contact with a person presenting one of the symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days and she is not exhibiting any of the following symptoms:

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath

  • Fever or chills

  • Muscle pain

  • Sore throat

  • Loss of taste or smell

* The above conditions apply to staff, volunteers, participants and spectators.

2- MEASURES TAKEN IN PLACE ON THE DAY OF THE RACE

The capacity of the 45 Degrees North site will be limited to 50% of the standard capacity, according to provincial and federal guidelines. No worries, we have over 6 million square feet and can handle any size run.

Start times will be every 15 minutes with a limited number of racers per wave. All participants will be distributed on the start line. Each participant, on the starting line, will have a designated place with a distance of 2 meters between each.

Our staff will clean and disinfect all customer contact points throughout the site at regular intervals.

Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the site.

3- PROTECTION AND SOCIAL DISTANCING EQUIPMENT

STAFF and VOLUNTEERS: Employees and volunteers of 45 Degrés Nord will wear a face mask at all times. Branded reusable masks will be available for purchase on site!

RUNNERS and SPECTATORS: Everyone entering the site will be required to follow the provincial and/or federal guidelines for face coverings. Until farther notice, everyone on site will ne asked to wear a face covering in all locations with the exception of the race course itself. When on the race course, we do suggest wearing a buff or mask when on the obstacles and near others.

A distance of at least 2 meters (6 feet) must be maintained between you and all other people at all times. All participants, spectators, staff and volunteers must respect this regulation to promote social distancing. Line-ups, fences and signage are already in place to help enforce this measure and social distancing will be enforced throughout the site. Social distancing should be respected in the following areas:

  • Parking and arrival on site

  • Registration area

  • Toilets, water stations

  • Start line, finish line and obstacles

  • Merchandise store and restaurant

4- MONITOR YOUR HEALTH STATUS BEFORE THE RACE

All participants, staff, volunteers and spectators must monitor their health 14 days before race day. This is important to check if you have symptoms that could indicate if you have COVID-19. Anyone exhibiting any of the following symptoms within 14 days of the race should not attend or even show up at the venue. Here are the main symptoms:

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath

  • Difficult breathing

  • Fever or chills

  • Runny nose or congestion

  • Muscle pain

It is imperative that any participant, staff, volunteer or spectator who has been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 or who exhibits any of the above symptoms in the last 14 days prior to the race should not participate or not even show up for the race. If you cannot make it to the race, notify us by email and we can then transfer your ticket to another race day.
